The Township's Crime Prevention Office, staffed by retired law enforcement officers, works to educate community residents (from students to seniors) in how to avoid being victims of crime. Programs include community seminars, home security inspections and presentations to community groups such as Parent Teacher Associations.
Our crime prevention program has produced results, slashing crime by 62% since 1991. WPD needs your help to keep crime on the run - click here to find out how you can be a part of the solution.
The Crime Prevention Office offers a number of helpful publications on how to keep your family, home and business safe from crime. Here are a few booklets you can access online:

- Preventing Charity Fraud - we all want to help those in need, not those with greed! This web page from the National Crime Prevention Council helps you tell the difference between a legitimate charity and fraud.
- Online Auction Fraud - Online auctions can be sources for great bargains, but they can also be a way for con artists to separate you from your money. Learn how to shop online safely from this National Crime Prevention Council guide.
